I once had a Lexicon PCM81 rack unit for reverb. it was an expensive piece and a pain to program. It did sound very good, thats for sure.
I wanted to sell it and use VST plugs since this was an easier route for tracking. I never found good reverb plugs that i was satisfied with...until Lexicon PCM plugs came out.
These sound very good and are quite comparable to the real thing. I liked the idea that i didnt need to patch to the outboard rack anymore either. Since then, there are many great VST plugs out there. I am glad to have sold the rack unit for a decent price and use the money for something i liked better.
if you get a chance, try out their demos.
